Governor Matt Blunt Statement on MO HealthNet Proposal
JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt today issued the following statement on Sen. Charlie Shield’s introduction of MO HealthNet legislation:
“MO HealthNet will, for the first time ever, provide access to quality health care for low income and disabled Missourians. Providing participants a health care home and offering choices and incentives for providers and participants to work towards healthy outcomes ensures MO HealthNet will improve the health of the sick and the poor.
“Senator Charlie Shields’ proposal moves our state towards a completely new program to guarantee every MO HealthNet participant has access to primary and preventative care. I applaud his leadership and look forward to continued discussion as we work to build a new system focused on prevention and wellness.”
