Statement from Gov. Matt Blunt on Lewis and Clark Discovery Initiative
“I am extremely disappointed that the Missouri General Assembly did not make passing the Lewis and Clark Discovery Initiative a priority. They were given an opportunity to make a landmark contribution to higher education and to earn the appreciation of students and their universities for generations to come.
“I greatly appreciate the diligent work on the part of the Senate to get this good education and economic development proposal through the legislative process. I will not give up on the young people of this state and will immediately begin considering other options to fully implement the Lewis and Clark Discovery Initiative.”
