Statement from Gov. Matt Blunt on University of Missouri President
Dr. Elson Floyd, president of the University of Missouri system, will be leaving his position to serve as Washington State University's president.
“Dr. Elson Floyd is to be commended for his leadership and positive influence on the University of Missouri. I have enjoyed working with him and look forward to continued cooperation with the university system and his successor.
“I applaud Dr. Floyd for working to improve efficiency and eliminate waste within the state’s largest public university system. I appreciate his commitment to the Lewis & Clark Discovery Initiative and its many benefits for higher education institutions and students across the state. I wish him the best in all his future endeavors.
“Our higher education institutions are among the best in the world. I will continue to offer them my unwavering support.”
