Governor to Deliver State of the State Address
January 24

JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt today announced he will deliver the annual State of the State address on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at 7 p.m.

Blunt is the first Missouri governor to deliver the address in the evening to provide more Missourians the opportunity to listen or see the address live.

Last year’s address was covered live on several radio and television stations throughout the state including KSSZ, KRCG and KOMU in mid-Missouri; KCPT and KRPS in Kansas City; KSMU, KOZJ and KOZK in Joplin and Springfield; KWMU and KSDK online in St. Louis; KMOS in Warrensburg; KUMR in Rolla; KWOC in Poplar Bluff; and Missourinet across the state among others. The governor’s first State of the State address was the most watched and most widely broadcast State of the State address in memory.

Blunt will discuss Missouri’s accomplishments over the past year, his legislative goals for the 94th General Assembly, 1st Regular Session and the Fiscal Year 2008 budget he will submit to the Missouri General Assembly.
