Blunt Retains Stottlemyre to Lead Highway Patrol

JEFFERSON CITY - Governor Matt Blunt today announced that he has retained Colonel Roger Stottlemyre to serve as the Superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Stottlemyre, 56, has held the Superintendent’s post, the highest ranking in the patrol, since June 2001. Stottlemyre started working his way up the ranks beginning in 1974 as a Trooper in Tarkio. He has also worked in St. Louis, Springfield, and Jefferson City and has been involved in drug interdiction programs, criminal law enforcement and traffic law enforcement.

"Roger Stottlemyre has earned the trust and respect of the men and women of the Missouri Highway Patrol by working his way through the ranks and experiencing firsthand the commitments and sacrifices it takes to protect the public," Blunt said. "He is a credit to his profession and Missourians are fortunate to have such a dedicated public servant leading the state’s top law enforcement agency."
