Blunt Makes Good on Sun Bowl Wager

JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt is disappointed that the University of Missouri Tigers fell short of defeating the Oregon State Beavers in the 73rd Annual Brut Sun Bowl.

“While I am disappointed that the Tigers were not successful in their bid to win this year’s Sun Bowl, I am excited to showcase Missouri’s fine products to Governor Ted Kulongoski and the state of Oregon,” Blunt said. “We know this is a bittersweet victory for him considering Mizzou is his alma mater. Nonetheless, he is sure to be impressed with the Missouri beef brand and his other winnings.”

Since the Tigers lost, Blunt will send Kulongoski a selection of Missouri branded beef, Missouri award winning wines and an AgriMissouri basket containing Show Me BBQ, Fitz’s Root Beer, blueberry amaretto syrup from Persimmon Hill Gourmet Foods and apple butter from Bekemeier’s Fruit Butters.

Kulongoski can expect to receive his care package next week.
