Blunt Announces Synbiotics Corporation Receives Quality Jobs Assistance to Expand in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt today announced that Synbiotics Corporation has been awarded benefits under his Quality Jobs Act that will assist in the creation of 24 new jobs over the next five years at the company’s Kansas City project facility.
The creation of the new jobs will allow Synbiotics to retain the state withholding tax and receive tax credits totaling six percent of the new payroll each year for five years. To be eligible, the new jobs must also include health benefits for employees.
“This is exciting news for Kansas City and Platte County and proof positive that our Quality Jobs Initiative is working to enhance opportunities for all Missourians,” Blunt said. “I commend Synbiotics for seeking this assistance to help create good, family-supporting jobs in Missouri.”
Blunt created the Quality Jobs Initiative in 2005, his first year in office, to help the Missouri Department of Economic Development and local Missouri communities better compete with every job created nationally and internationally. The program has helped attract and retain jobs that pay above the average county wage with health benefits in every region of the state.
