Blunt Appoints Rad Talburt to Serve as State Water Patrol Colonel
Jefferson City–Gov. Matt Blunt has appointed Rad Talburt to serve as state water patrol colonel.
Talburt currently serves as a sergeant for the water patrol. Talburt has worked for Missouri State Water Patrol, a division of the Missouri Department of Public Safety since 1980, serving as a water patrol officer and corporal. Talburt also worked with the state water patrol dive team from 1990 through 2000.
Talburt holds a bachelor’s degree in law enforcement from the School of the Ozarks. He has received specialized training and certification from Glock Armorers’ School in St. Louis, FBI Instructor School, and in meth lab and marijuana identification.
"I am pleased that Rad Talburt has agreed to accept this important public safety position and I look forward to his continued leadership in the Missouri Water Patrol," Blunt said.
