Blunt Appoints White to Serve as Director of Personnel Division
JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt has appointed Chester L. White to serve as director of the Division of Personnel.
White, 50 of Jefferson City, has more than 24 years of supervisory and personnel management experience. He previously served as a critical asset protection planner on a contract basis where he planned and developed integrated, comprehensive critical asset plans that provided training, expertise and technological solutions to mitigate the potential of terrorist attacks on critical asset sites.
White is a retired colonel, deputy commander/director of operations of the 35th Engineer Brigade for the Missouri National Guard. He was responsible for the day to day operations and all personnel functions for more than 150 full-time employees, representing over 2,500 National Guard soldiers.
White holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Tarkio College in Missouri.
He is one of five qualified persons nominated by the Personnel Advisory Board.
The Division of Personnel is responsible for managing the Missouri Merit and Uniform Classification and Pay systems. The division provides human resource management, training and development services for state agencies and employees.
