Blunt Appoints Columbia Man to Head Department of Economic Development
COLUMBIA—Missouri Governor Matt Blunt today announced his intention to nominate Columbia businessman Greg Steinhoff to serve as the Director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
Steinhoff, 45, is the vice president for franchise relations of Option Care, Inc., a company that provides specialty pharmaceutical products and related services through a national network of 130 company-owned and franchise locations in 32 states. Prior to joining Option Care, Steinhoff worked as a pharmacist in Columbia.
The Columbia Chamber of Commerce recently recognized Steinhoff's involvement in the Columbia community by giving him its Outstanding Citizen Award. A Columbia native, Steinhoff donates his time to several civic and charity organizations. He holds a bachelors degree in Biology from Westminster College and a bachelors degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy.
"Greg Steinhoff has a keen understanding and appreciation of the challenges facing Missouri’s employers and entrepreneurs," Blunt said. "I know that Greg will be an effective manager of the Department of Economic Development and an outstanding emissary to business leaders who are interested in relocating to, or expanding their businesses in Missouri. I am pleased that he has accepted this important position in my administration."
Steinhoff's appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
