Statement from Gov. Matt Blunt on Carnahan Announcement
“Melanie and I wish Sec. Carnahan the very best for a full and speedy recovery. This terrible disease has impacted our family and both of us strongly support Sec. Carnahan’s call to Missouri women to make an appointment for a mammogram or to do a self-exam today. If detected early, breast cancer can be treated and we are pleased that Sec. Carnahan noticed the symptoms and has taken the appropriate steps for treatment and we commend her for her courage and for setting a good example for women in our state.”
